When you talk to your partner you feel you are not being listened to or that your opinion does
not matter. After you’ve talked, you feel frustrated and confused. There is a lot of arguments or relationship conflicts.
Together or alone?
Ideally, you should go to couple counselling together. If your partner refuses to join you, there are lots of things couple counselling can help you sort out on your own. There may be changes you can make that will have a positive impact on your relationship. Some people also prefer to have counselling on their own at first to work out their feelings before seeing another counsellor as a couple.
How does couples / relationship / marriage counselling work?
It is an opportunity to look at the problem in a different way and to be heard by someone who will respect and encourage your opinions and decisions. It focuses on helping both partners learn new skills to communicate constructively about their problems and develop a more nurturing relationship,
